The Institute for Emerging Issues (IEI) is pleased to announce the appointment of Miles Brown and Pres Davenport to its National Advisory Board for a three-year term. Brown and Davenport bring a wealth of experience and expertise that will support IEI’s mission to bring North Carolinians together across sectors, regions and perspectives to collaborate on finding solutions to the state’s most critical issues.
“I’m so impressed with how engaged Miles and Pres have already been with IEI, particularly their involvement with the 2025 Emerging Issues Forum,” said IEI Director Sarah Hall. “I look forward to working with them as members of our National Advisory Board.”
Brown currently serves as a senior consultant for public sector management consulting and operations improvement firm, Public Consulting Group (PCG), in Charlotte. He is also the founder of Barnstock, a grassroots benefit music festival. Since 2009, the Barnstock Charities Fund has generated over $275,000 for more than 50 non-profit organizations. Brown earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from NC State University and his Master of Business Administration from Clark University.
Davenport, based in Wilmington, currently serves as partner and director of business development at E&V Strategic Communications in Raleigh. Davenport has spent his career helping brands create innovative solutions to their marketing, communications and public affairs challenges. Prior to joining E&V, Davenport helped Washington, DC-based New Media Strategies create and execute social media strategies for brands like Domino’s, The Golf Channel and the CW Network. Davenport received his Bachelor of Arts in Management and Society from UNC Chapel Hill.
IEI’s National Advisory Board brings a combination of leaders from business, government and higher education together to identify emerging issues and synthesize research, ideas, debate and action into a program of work that enhances North Carolina’s long-term prosperity.
