Bio
Madeline is the Community Initiatives Program Specialist at IEI. She supports the development and implementation of community engagement initiatives related to emerging social and economic issues in North Carolina. Her work involves measuring impact, facilitating stakeholder engagement, and fostering collaboration and outreach.
Madeline was born and raised in The Gambia, West Africa, and later moved to Syracuse, New York. She received her undergraduate degree in Asian Studies at Berea College in Kentucky, followed by her Master’s in Peace and Conflict Studies, with a concentration in Sustainable Peace and Justice, at UNC Greensboro. Previously, Madeline has worked in alumni relations and engagement as well as in education, nonprofit development and media, focusing on gender equality, youth empowerment and community engagement. She enjoys reading, traveling, candle making, dancing and exploring eateries. Madeline also enjoys visiting her family in The Gambia whenever she gets the chance.
