Jennifer Heiss

Bio

Jennifer Heiss is the director of communication and marketing at IEI. She leads the company’s Communications and Marketing team and collaborates with IEI staff and stakeholders to tell the story of the institute’s work in North Carolina communities.

Jennifer is originally from Washington, D.C. and was raised in Lexington, NC. She received her bachelor’s degree in communication, public relations from Appalachian State University and her master’s degree in digital communication from UNC Chapel Hill. Prior to joining IEI, Jennifer worked as a communicator in both state and local government, the utility industry and for a federal agriculture program at NC State University. She enjoys learning photography, personal finance and discovering new places to hike. Jennifer and her husband live in Raleigh.

Jennifer has been with IEI since 2022.
