The days are long, but the years are short.
It’s that time of year when things start to get quiet on campus as students wrap up their spring semester and dive into finals. We have always been fortunate to have stellar interns and student workers, and this year was no different. To Crystal, Jenny, Katherine and Nathan, thank you for a wonderful year! We appreciate everything you have done for IEI and wish you a restful summer break!
We’re one month out from the 2025 Emerging Issues Forum! It was a difficult decision to postpone in February, but I am so excited about the energy I have felt (pun intended!) when talking to groups and people around the state about North Carolina’s infrastructure and evolving energy future. Illustrating this excitement is the fact that almost all of our previously scheduled speakers were able to commit to our new date: May 28. I encourage you to take a look at our agenda and share it with others! Tickets are available until May 21 or we sell out, whichever comes first. Get your tickets at go.ncsu.edu/2025forum.
Finally, I want to thank Chancellor Randy Woodson for his leadership, continued support of IEI and engagement with our organization throughout his time at NC State. Chancellor Woodson started in April 2010 and I came to NC State just a few months later; I’ve never known the university without him. His presence will be missed on campus and at our forums, but his impact will not be forgotten. Enjoy retirement, Chancellor Woodson!
