The Institute for Emerging Issues (IEI) at NC State University is excited to welcome Juan Isler as its new Finance and Operations Specialist.
Q: Tell us a bit about your background and how you came to IEI.
A: I am a returning teammate to IEI. I started my NC State experience with IEI in 2012. I left the department to learn more about events and how they are done. I first came to IEI because of my background in audio/video and my experience in working in local news.
Q: What interests you about working at IEI? (Is there a particular program or area of work you’re most excited about?)
A: I love Outreach as a whole, and just as IEI poured into me, I want to do that for my community.
Q: What do you believe is the biggest emerging issue facing our state?
A: Classism.
Q: What kinds of things do you like to do for fun?
A: I am a sound designer and actor in the Wake County theatre community.
