Governor Cooper Issues Executive Order No. 135

Extends Statewide Stay-at-Home Order until May 8 and other orders for close contact businesses

On April 23, 2020, Governor Cooper signed Executive Order 135, which extends the statewide stay-at-home order, and other orders limiting mass gatherings, requiring social distancing, and restricting visitation at long term care facilities. This Order is effective immediately and will remain in effect until May 8, 2020 at 5:00 pm. 

The provisions of this Executive Order will be enforced by state and local law enforcement officers. Violation of this Order may be subject to prosecution pursuant to N.C.G.S. 166A-1 9.30(d) and is punishable by a Class 2 misdemeanor.
