NCIOM All-Payer Claims Database Recommendations Released

An All-Payer Claims Database (APCD) contains comprehensive, multi-payer data that allows states and other stakeholders to better understand the cost, quality and utilization of healthcare for their residents. Nearly half of all U.S. states (22) have an operational APCD or are in the process of building one.

In 2014, IEI convened two meetings to explore whether NC would benefit from an APCD. To continue this work, I proudly served on an NC Institute of Medicine (IOM) task force steering committee to further explore APCD use case, governance, and financing models. Earlier this month, NCIOM released the task force recommendations. Read the recommendations here.
