31st EMERGING ISSUES FORUM

unnamed

With increased automation from technology and demographic shift, [inlinetweet prefix=”Future” tweeter=”” suffix=”#IEIFutureWork @emergingissues”]job losses due to technology for North Carolina could total 1.2 million[/inlinetweet], and job losses could be 5x larger than the 2008 recession. How can we prepare today to create enough good jobs for tomorrow?

The Institute for Emerging Issues took to the open roads this summer, embarking on the FutureWork Prosperity Tour, a statewide bus tour across each of North Carolina’s eight regional Prosperity Zones!

We landed at area schools, universities, and businesses—specifically to hear from you and your community leaders about the future of work in your community! We shared key insights from IEI’s 31st Annual Emerging Issues Forum, FutureWork, and relevant jobs data from our FutureWork Disruption Index for North Carolina. More importantly, we asked for your feedback on key strategies to ensure a skilled workforce in an ever-expanding technological era. Your input will continue to be critical in helping to inform meaningful pathways forward for our leaders in government, nonprofits and industry.
