Call for Poster Proposals

Students are invited to submit posters for display at the 2025 Emerging Issues Forum: Future Forward Energy

The Institute for Emerging Issues invites NC State undergraduate and graduate students to submit a poster for presentation at the 2025 Emerging Issues Forum on Feb. 19, 2025. Posters should present current research or highlight innovative practices or interventions that are tied to the forum themes of energy affordability, energy workforce demands, and infrastructure reliability and resiliency.

North Carolina’s population is projected to reach 14 million by the year 2050 and energy demand is growing at the fastest rate in 30 years. The 2025 Emerging Issues Forum will examine the impacts driven by population growth, an influx of energy-intensive businesses, extreme weather and more on North Carolina’s energy landscape. Sessions will focus on energy affordability, workforce demands, and infrastructure reliability and resiliency.

Students accepted to present a poster will be able to attend the forum at no cost. Forum attendees will vote for their favorite poster and prizes will be awarded to the top three posters.

Proposal Submission Requirements

All poster proposals must be submitted using the form on this page by Jan. 24, 2025. Proposals must include an 8-10 word title and a 500-word abstract of their poster research. The names of individuals submitting the poster, phone numbers, e-mail addresses and university departments must be included. Forum registration will be covered for up to two students per poster selected. Up to ten posters will be chosen for presentation.
