IEI’s complement of event and meeting spaces inside the James B. Hunt Jr. Library include more than 16,000 square feet.  These spaces include the large Duke Energy Hall; the 100-person Gary and Lee Allen Lecture Hall, suitable or small symposia, lectures, and presentations; and various smaller meeting rooms.  To inquire about a booking, please contact Rave! Event Services (a unit of Campus Enterprises), which manages these spaces.

The Emerging Issues Commons gallery, located on the Library’s second floor, represents an additional meeting space that can be reserved for certain events, particularly those where the gallery’s interactive features would engage and benefit participants.  The Emerging Issues Commons includes a range of interactive technologies that inform, inspire, and engage citizens around a wide array of public policy issues and considerations relevant to North Carolina.  To inquire about the Commons gallery, please contact Ms. Simone Collman, IEI’s Public Events Coordinator (, 919-513-7039).
